Oh, those who believed! You don’t say the word “Raaeinaa”, instead you say: “Undhurna”, and you listen. And for the disbelievers have a painful punishment.
Even though the word “Raaeinaa” is having the meaning like ‘look us’, ‘consider us’, it is also used as a mocking word having the meaning like ‘barbarian’ and ‘fool’. This word was widely used as a joke by the Jews and hypocrites who came to hear the Messenger explaining Lord’s Book. If the word pronounced as “Raaeenaa” with prolonged sound is having the meaning ‘our shepherd’. Moreover, Allah commanded the believers to use the word “Undhurna” which means watch over us which doesn’t have any other meaning. Those who use the word “Raaeenaa” again after the revelation of this verse are the disbelievers and they will have a painful punishment.
The Arabic Quran reading Fujjar by hiding and rejecting Adhikr are having an evil concept about Lord Allah, so they will have evil consequences, Lord’s curse and wrath have happened upon them and Hell is kept prepared as their returning place as told in verse 48: 6. They are denoted as the worst creatures for not utilizing their bestowed intelligence. It is told in verses 64: 16-17: “You heed the Lord as much as you can, you listen to verses carefully and you obey, and you spend in charity for your soul, whoever is saved from the covetousness of his soul, they are the only successful. If you advance Lord a handsome loan, He will compound it for you and He will grant you forgiveness, and Lord is the Appreciative, the Tolerant”. Those who didn’t follow the Commands of the Lord will wail in the Hereafter as: “If we had only listened and had utilized our intelligence, we would not have become the inmates of the Blazing Fire” is warned in verse 67: 10. Verse 7: 179 says: “Many among mankind and Jinns are destined to the Hell, they have hearts with which they think not about the aim of life, they have eyes with which they don’t observe Adhikr, they have ears with which they don’t hear Adhikr, they are like cattle, nay, they are more strayed, those are the only heedless”
The character of the Prophet and the believers who testify Adhikr are prescribed in verse 2: 285 as: “They will say that we heard and we obeyed”. See explanation 2: 93; 3: 78; 4: 46 and 9: 32-33.
